Built for the Tracks Less Travelled

Australia's most capable production Sprinter build.

The Overlander is Trekano's flagship build — designed from the ground up for people who don't turn around when the bitumen ends. Starting with a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 519 LWB 4WD, every single component is chosen for one reason: capability in the real Australian outback.

Outside, FVC does the heavy lifting. A full-length roof rack, heavy-duty front protection bar, rear step bar, and side rock sliders — all designed specifically for the Sprinter and engineered to Australian standards. Suspension is lifted and upgraded with either Fox Factory or Bilstein coilovers, and the 432mm alloys are wrapped in BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tyres.

Inside, it's all about comfort that survives the rough stuff. Spray foam insulation in every panel, composite ply wall lining, and a fixed king bed that doesn't move no matter what corrugations you hit. Power comes from a 400Ah lithium battery system backed by 300W of roof solar and a DC-DC charger from the alternator.

FVC Roof Rack

Full-length Sprinter roof rack with integrated mounting points for awnings, lights, solar, and roof-top tent. Load rated and road tested.

FVC Front Bar

Heavy-duty front protection bar with integrated winch mount and fog light provisions. Designed to replace the factory bumper cleanly.

Suspension Lift

Fox Factory or Bilstein 51mm lift kit with upgraded front struts and rear shock absorbers. Transforms the factory ride into something that can handle real corrugations.

400Ah Lithium Power

Lithium iron phosphate battery bank with 300W solar, 40A MPPT controller, DC-DC charger, and 2000W inverter. Self-sufficient for weeks at a time.

Spray Foam Insulation

Two-part closed-cell spray foam insulation throughout the floor, walls, and ceiling — the best thermal performance money can buy and doubles as sound deadening.

Fixed King Bed

Permanent king-size sleeping platform built over garage storage. No fold-out, no conversion — get in, lay down, sleep. Garage stores everything that doesn't fit overhead.

FVC Roof Rack

Full-length aluminium roof rack designed for the Sprinter LWB. Features integrated cross bars, awning mounts both sides, and solar panel mounting provisions. Load rated to 150kg dynamic. Includes wind deflector for highway efficiency.

FVC Front Protection Bar

Full-width front protection bar that replaces the factory bumper. Integrates with factory sensors, includes winch mount plate, and has provisions for ARB-style fog lights. Finished in black powder coat.

FVC Rear Bar & Step

Heavy-duty rear protection bar with integrated tow bar, jerry can holder mounts, and a full-width step. Rated for a rear-mounted spare wheel carrier.

FVC Side Steps

Rock slider-style side steps that bolt to the chassis rails, not the body. Provides serious rock clearance protection while giving a solid step into the cabin.

Wheels & Tyres

432mm black alloy wheels with 265/70R17 BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tyres. Lifted suspension brings ride height up 50mm to clear the bigger rubber. Includes full-size spare.

Suspension Upgrade

51mm lift kit with Fox Factory 2.0 reservoir front struts and rear shock absorbers, or Bilstein B8 equivalents. Transforms the 4WD Sprinter into a capable off-road platform without sacrificing on-road ride quality.

Base Build — Floor, Walls & Ceiling

Two-part closed-cell spray foam insulation applied directly to the steel shell. Composite ply wall lining in satin finish. 8mm vinyl plank flooring over a structural subfloor. All seams sealed against moisture.

Fixed King Bed & Garage Storage

Fixed king sleeping platform (1950mm x 1550mm) built over a full-width garage. Access from the rear barn doors. Garage stores camping gear, recovery gear, spare tyres — whatever you need. Custom-fitted foam mattress with Trekano cover included.

Kitchen & Cooking

900mm stainless benchtop with undermount Isotherm 85L compressor fridge, single bowl stainless sink with hot/cold mixer tap, and 2-burner removable propane cooktop. Overhead cabinetry above the kitchen run.

Power System

400Ah lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery bank. 300W roof solar with MPPT controller. 40A DC-DC Redarc charger from alternator. 2000W Victron MultiPlus inverter/charger. Shore power inlet. Real-time battery monitoring via Victron app.

Water System

75L freshwater tank under floor. Truma HeatMaster for hot water on demand. Grey water tank in rear skid. Foot pump as backup. Water fill from both sides.

Climate

Webasto Thermo Top Evo diesel heater for winter. Maxxair Deluxe roof vent fan for summer ventilation. Both on 12V systems with smart controls.
